The culture around logging within software engineering

You are cordially invited to contribute to a research study examining the practices surrounding logging and log file data in the field of software engineering. This data will assist in understanding the need not only in the medical device manufacturing field but that of the larger community of software engineers regardless of their age, years of experience or the industry that they work in.
Purpose of the Study:
The research is being conducted as part of a doctoral project at Plymouth University. It focuses on understanding practices related to logging and the use of log file data in software engineering. This includes logging related to both applications and devices.
Duration:
The questionnaire is designed to take approximately 10 minutes to complete.  If you choose to not answer any specific questions, or do not feel comfortable with answering a question you can omit these questions.
Question Flexibility:
You have full discretion to answer the questions. If you encounter any question that does not resonate with you or you prefer not to answer, feel free to omit it.
Confidentiality and Use of Data:
Please be assured that this survey is completely anonymous. No identifiable or sensitive personal data is being collected. The responses will solely be used to gain insights into logging practices in software engineering and will be reported only in aggregate. Participation in this survey is voluntary. You can choose to participate or not, and you may exit the survey at any time. By submitting your responses, you consent to their use for research purposes. However, once the data is submitted, it cannot be withdrawn due to the anonymous nature of the survey. Contact Information: If you have any questions about the survey, please do not hesitate to contact me, Veronica Schmitt, at veronica.schmitt@plymouth.ac.uk.Your participation is greatly appreciated and will provide valuable insights for this research.
